Directions Hair Lightening Kit has been specially formulated to condition and help protect your hair while you lighten yourhair, perfect for pre-lightening your hair before using semi-permanent colours. 
  • 30 Vol (9%) is for people with light blonde - medium brown hair.
  • 40 Vol (12%) is designed for people with darker brown hair.
  1. First, carry out a skin sensitivity and hair strand test.
  2. Protect hair and ears with vaseline, wear gloves.
  3. Mix powder bleach and cream peroxide together in a tinting bowl.
  4. Beginning at the front of your hairline, apply the mixture evenly by sectioning and painting one section at a time.
      If you have medium to long hair apply bleach mix 2 inches away from scalp and leave on for approximately 15 minutes, then apply to root area (the heat from your head will speed up the development process at the root area).
  5. Cover treated hair with development cap and leave mixture on your hair, checking every 15 minutes on the development. 
  6. Once happy with the hair shade level reached, remove cap and rinse hair thoroughly with warm running water. Shampoo your hair with the conditioning shampoo working into a rich lather while massaging scalp to remove all traces of the bleach mix. 
  7. Rinse well with warm running water and then towel dry.
Before lightening please take note:
  • If your hair has been previously bleached, lightened, spray lightened, or coloured using metallic salt based products or henna, do not use this product.
  • If you have bleached, tinted or permed your hair recently, this product may not be suitable for further lightening. 
  • We recommend protecting the hairline and ears with Vaseline before lightening.
  • Always carry out a skin sensitivity and hair strand test.
  • Do not use product on other body hair, eyebrows or eyelashes.
  • Not recommended for use during pregnancy.
  • Do not use on an irritated scalp or broken skin.
  • If you have very thick or longer than shoulder length hair, you may require more than one kit for full application.
  • May not be suitable for very dark brown or black hair – always complete a strand test.
